Hangarworks is an independent, fan-made tool for Star Citizen organizations, built and maintained by a single developer - me, Noel; aka Ilucide. I'm a games industry veteran myself - almost a quarter century making games across half the globe. I've worked on titles like EverQuest II, The Division 1 & 2, Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora, and Horizon: Hunter's Gathering. I'm dipping my toe into making tools for games I love, and this just happens to be my first full effort. Hangarworks isn't affiliated with or endorsed by Cloud Imperium Games.

The core of Hangarworks including the blueprint catalog, the crafting planner, and your personal tracking is free, and will stay free.

The paid org tiers (and a few optional cosmetic themes) cover what actually costs money to run. The database, hosting, and notifications scale with how much each organization uses. Large fleets with lots of members, history, and activity are the most expensive to support, so the paid tiers are tied to the same things that drive those costs. The goal is to keep Hangarworks sustainable. I'm mostly retired, and can't afford to be hit with a gigantic hosting or bandwidth bill. Even using something like Patreon would be a risk, and I'm unfortunately not in a position to take that risk right now. Plus, I think this is a pretty handy org management tool, and it's worth it!

I mostly just don't want to deal with the hassle of people looking through my stuff. It's overhead I don't have time for right now. Maybe this will change in the future, but between building this app, and other life stuff, I just don't have the time or energy to handle something else. This might not be a satisfactory answer for everyone, but it's the one I have.
